Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born on June 15, 1996 in Stavanger Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora and often stylized with highercase letters like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the record label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from musicians and music blogs as well as the media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band, for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are two of her most renowned covers. Katy Perry, who endorsed the tune Runaway from her side, also gave her the track a little more attention. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering an instrument in her attic and being awed by the sound it could produce. Her parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as an occupation or pastime but for growth. She began writing the songs she wrote herself. Her inspirations include famous authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her love of Bjork's style. Her mother had told her that her songs can be a catalyst for her to gain popularity, but also help everyone else see their value in the world and realize how they can benefit from the songs, she decided to start performing in public. She started playing piano when she was just 6 years old and was writing her first song before she reached nine. Her family didn't hear about it until she reached fourteen. Aurora wasn't a childhood dream. The singer claims that she is a fan of composing songs. She claims that music is her favourite way to feel anything.
